I am currently a Detroit-based independent visual journalist.

My fascination in photography began with a disposable Walgreens camera in Santa Fe, New Mexico. Being fairly young, I aimlessly attempted to capture the people, color and light around me. Now, with a love for visual storytelling and better cameras, I still find joy and hope in looking through my camera's viewfinder.

My work aims to intimately show aspects of humanity intersecting with economic and social issues. I have been published in The New York Times, CNN, US News and World Report, Bloomberg, Education Week, Detroit Free Press and The Detroit News. I graduated from Ithaca College with a B.A. degree in Documentary Studies, attended the Eddie Adams Workshop XXVII in 2014 and the Missouri Photo Workshop in 2015.

I specialize in documentary, editorial and portrait photography. Currently based in Detroit, MI and available for assignments.
